A story I came up with that I want somebody to tell me what they think. It's not done yet but this is the first part and the second part.
The day was young in this strange meadow. The light was shining out much longer than usual. Most of the animals came in and started to play together. There were a few trees scattered about and one big tree on the middle. A day like this was not meant to be ignored, so none of the animals did. There were many squirrels on the trees and other animals running around. That was until the sky turned black and the sun was blocked. A strange creature jumped down. It was a big monkey looking thing that was very big. It grabbed into the air and actually grabbed onto something and started to rip down the sky. A strange portal looking thing appeared and many of the animals tried to run as it was attempting to suck them all in, but they hid. Slowly they were being pulled in.
“Maxi, it's time to wake up!” A voice calls. It was a woman's voice, and was Maxi's mother. A little boy sat up. “That.. was a weird dream.” Maxi mumbled to himself. He started to get ready for school. He was thinking about it while taking his shower, getting dressed, eating, and even brushing his teeth! Soon he was all ready for school and was walking down the street to go to school. Maxi was a boy that looked maybe 10 or 11, though he did look young for his age. He was skinny with dark brown hair that was cut short. He had on a teal colored shirt and blue shorts. He was soon in the bus and found himself thinking about the dream again, where he was falling asleep again.
The scene all formed again. The big creature was standing there with the rip there and still trying to pull them all in. Some strange thing that looked like a bat got sucked into it and was just gone. The animals all seemed scared at what was happening. They were continuing to be sucked in and the beast was laughing at what was happening. He found it so funny at what was happening.
“Kid, you gotta get out.” A man's voice says. Maxi opened his eyes to see the bus driver telling him to get out. He got up and said he was sorry, then went running out the door and into the school. He got to school just in time for class. Much time passed while his teacher was talking about many different subjects. Things like this weren't interesting him, so he found himself starting to dream again.
There were still many animals left but they couldn't stay hidden forever. It was laughing and talking about how easy it was going to be to steal this kid's dreams. Suddenly Maxi appeared in his dream and emerged from the huge tree that had a secret door.
“What... is happening? Oh well, I won't let you take my dreams!” Maxi shouts as he ran past many animals who hung onto trees and things. He was getting close until he found that the portal was now dragging him!
“Looks like I'll get the only hope you even had of stopping me, and with that, I'll have everything I need from here.” The beast says as Maxi was starting to fly into the portal. Many of the animals came running out and created a chain of animals to grab him and pull him back to safety.
“You think you can beat a nightmare as strong as this one? He isn't even trying, he's just using a dream eater to give it to him! You just need to scare him away, don't worry about beating him yet, you don't know how to fight!” A squirrel tells him. Maxi sighed, unsure how he would beat him then, if he was this strong.
“It's all over!” The nightmare says, creating another hole that released another dream eater. Now they were pulling in even faster. The animals were afraid that this would be the end of this kid, unless they could help him. “
We don't have time to explain all the ways to fight them so just try to give me some power and I'll fight them!” A dog says, though it was a chibi dog on two legs, but it suddenly got pulled into the dream eater.
“Okay imagine giving me power!” A panda that was chibi also and was animated, and on two legs. He was in a fighting stance as a cape appeared on him and he was letting out a strange aura.
“Okay now I'm ready to fight, Panda blast!” The panda says, firing a black and white blast at one of the dream eaters and it closer. He shot another at the other one to make it close then was getting ready to attack the main one. “Beating me with a pathetic blast like that will be impossible!” The nightmare says, sticking a clawed hand into the ground and then a black area appeared on the ground and came after them. The panda looked at Maxi and the other animals who were in trees, though Maxi and the panda were nowhere near trees! They were surrounded by the black and the panda knew it was like a dream eater and would drain them away, though a dream could last a while on it, a human in this world would disappear just by stepping on it.
“Come on give me more power!” The panda says, then he suddenly got wings and flew up with Maxi hanging on him, above the black now. They went to a spot without the black and landed.
“Panda BLAST!” The panda says, firing another blast at it but it hit and didn't bother the nightmare too much. “Let me show you a real blast..” It says, shooting a black blast at them but a squirrel who was also on two legs, animated looking, and chibi, grabbed them and pulled them out of the way.
“If we all fight we can make him stalled so you can wake up, but to do that, you need to get back in that tree, we'll all help you get there, and when you fall asleep again, be ready to help us.” A squirrel says. Many of the animals who all resembled two legged-animated-chibi animals went running and firing many blasts and beams of so many colors and using everything they had to keep the nightmare away from Maxi, who was finally at the tree and was going back in. Then it all faded away.
“Hey the bell rang hurry up and wake up!” One of the kids says, shaking Maxi. He got up and walked out with them, scared about what happened. Soon he got home and was eating, then he went straight to bed.
“I'm ready.. I'll make sure we can beat him..” Maxi says, laying down and falling asleep. He came back out of the tree to see what was happening when he had left.
“Panda Blast! Bear Claw! Ayden Fire! Liana Vines!” Many names were called out from all of the animals but none of the attacks seemed to do much good. The blast was shaken off, the claws weren't strong enough to hit and harm him, the fire missed and the vines were broken. Nothing the animals did was strong enough to really hurt him and he sent out a black blast that didn't hit but let out an explosion that knocked them all away.
“Pests, I'll show you the true power of a nightmare!” He shouts, firing many blasts at them to keep them away.
“Maxi hide! It's not real!” The panda shouts but it was too late. A blast shot at Maxi and hit him. “Have fun, with my nightmare.” The beast says. The animals all lost their powers and weren't able to shoot and blasts or anything, so they were doomed again.
Maxi found himself standing in a red hot place that burnt Maxi's feet by just standing on it so he was jumping around and noticed he was right under a volcano, but it was so hot Maxi was afraid. Maxi started to sweat as his shirt was changing to a darker color. If he didn't find a safe place he would be doomed. He jumped around trying to find a spot to stand and then found they the place was shaking. He fell on his back onto the burning rock that was burning him and saw a lot of lava coming down from the volcano. Maxi was scared but then remembered that he was told it wasn't real. Maxi was about to be hit by the lava but he found himself back at the meadow, but he was still burnt.
“You made it out.. no way!” The nightmare shouts. Many of the animals were on the ground with swirls for eyes, passed out.
“I won't let you.. I won't let you take my dreams!” Maxi shouts, getting a bow in his hands with an arrow in it. The bow shining many different colors. The feeling of it in his hands was so slick and cold, yet warming at the same time. He felt so strong with this in his hands. The arrow was colored the same and went out to a point that shined brightly. Just a touch of this point seemed like it would cut you open. He aimed and shot at the Nightmare and it hit it right in the chest. The arrow was glowing brightly while flying and then burst into white flames on the arrow and on the nightmare. It was actually hurt from this and was breathing heavily. It shot multiple blasts at Maxi meant to kill but the squirrel got him out of the way again. The animals all ran at it and attacked to scare him enough to leave for now.
“I'll be back, and I'll bring many dream eaters to destroy you!” The nightmare says, then it disappeared. Maxi fell down. He had saved his dream this once, but knew he wouldn't be safe forever. The thing said so itself, it would be back, but he would learn how to fight them. The bow disappeared and the animals came back to their senses.
“Hey get up we need to get you trained quickly before they come back!” The panda says, helping him up. “I think we should give you our names first though.” He adds. The squirrel cleared his throat.
“I'm Yaden!” The squirrel says, balancing on his tail.
“I am Josh, and I'll be helping you a lot here.” The panda says.
“I take it you know my name... what about the rest of you?” Maxi asks the other's who were watching.
“J-Jeanne..” A little bear mumbles from behind.
“Soph.” A male cat says. Many other animals called out their names.
“There are more than just us animals though, your dream world is huge but we are in the center of it all.” Josh says. Maxi was happy.
“So is it all over now? I mean.. is he really coming back?” Maxi asks.
“Of course, he is a strong one and must have had something wrong with him to be that weak, or maybe we are strong.” Josh replies.
“Us that strong? He just learned how to give us some dream power but he can't channel how much or even summon his dream weapons, he just got lucky.” Soph says from behind.
“We are going to teach you how to fight then!” Yaden says happily.
“Wait wait wait! I want to explore first.” Maxi says. Josh grabbed his arm.
“No we are going to train first.” Josh simply says, then Maxi was flailing his arm frantically trying to get it off.
“Heeeeeeeeeey! Stop that!” Josh says as he went flying away. Soph suddenly kicked Maxi in the face and sent him to the ground.
“Weak, unprepared, scared of weaklings, you have all the things it takes to make a HORRIBLE WARRIOR!” Soph says. “That's strike one.” He adds. Maxi was confused.
“Strike one..?” He asks.
“The first out of three strikes until I stop helping you and you will probably never figure out how to fight and stop these nightmares.” Soph says, giving him a glare. Maxi had no choice but to try to learn.
“Okay, keep your guard up is the most important rule.” Soph says. “When you fight you must feel the kill to dodge and block so you can counter attack, got it?” Soph says. Maxi nodded. Soph jumped up and bounced off of a tree and went flying at Maxi who flinched and would have been stabbed by claws but Yaden jumped in the way and knocked Soph away from Maxi.
“Hmph you are worse than I though, you couldn't even look straight at an attack coming.” Soph says.
“Stop it let's start him with something easier!” Yaden tells him. Maxi was now standing in front of Yaden who was telling him things about tricks and how speed was needed or you would be left behind in a fight without any way of catching up. Yaden wasn't the one who was going to train him first though, this was for one of the people who was the most afraid to fight, Jeanne the bear.
“Jeanne, it's your turn to fight him, okay?” Yaden asks.
“O-o..kay.” Jeanne says, getting ready just like Maxi was. When it started, Jeanne was first to attack and ran up to Maxi and started to pound on his leg which didn't really hurt too much.
“Am I really supposed to hit her? She isn't even strong..” Maxi says, looking at Jeanne and Yaden.
“Yes you are, don't hold back, trust me.” Yaden says.
“If you are scared then you are as good as dead.” Soph says.
“Fine I'll do something..” Maxi says, punting Jeanne a little bit away but without much attempt to hurt her. She fell down and rolled backwards and started to cry. “No no no don't cry!” Maxi says, running over to her. Her got down close to make sure she was okay then he was suddenly punched in the eye by her and she got up and looked angry. She ran and started to claw him.
“Now he's done for, he didn't finish her when he had the chance and now comes one of her famous and over powered moves..” Soph says.
“Dust Cloud Anger!” Jeanne says, making a big cloud around the two of them and started to claw and punch rapidly inside of it where you could only see Maxi crying and trying to get away while Jeanne was beating him up.
“Help! She's not stopping I don't know what to do!” Maxi says quickly.
“Use what we said to hopefully knock her away and out of her cloud.” Soph says.
Maxi tried to hit her back now but felt that it was useless because he was getting even more hurt! Soon the dust went away and Jeanne was sitting on the ground with a cookie that nobody really knew where she got it from and Maxi was beat up all over. The cookie had come from Maxi's pocket which now made him cry because he lost it, but it did save his life.
“Good, she didn't kill you. Now let's try this again, but you get the first hit on her.” Soph says.
Maxi was afraid to do and and simply shook his head no.
“Would you rather fight me?” Soph asks as his claws popped out of his paws. Maxi shook his head no again. He didn't want to fight any of them because they were all so strong! This training wasn't getting him much of anywhere.
“Maybe we should end it now, you know, since he's too afraid.” Josh says. Soph shook his head no. Soph thought that you only lived so you could be stronger than others, and to be the strongest means you have the responsibility to teach others to be strong, and since he was the strongest animal there, he felt this as his duty.
“You know what, we do have that really little kid that would probably fight you, and she isn't as strong as Jeanne.” Soph says. Yaden ran off and came back with somebody by him. Again she was small like the others. It was a little rabbit girl who had ears pointed up and a big smile with little teeth showing. The little bunny had white fur beside a brown spot around an eye.
“So they want me to fight you? Okay..” The little rabbit says.
“But first, what is your name?” Maxi asks.
“My name is Yuki.” The rabbit says, smiling. “And I know your name already.” She adds. Maxi suddenly felt strange. He was going to fight a little girl bunny? This was worse than fighting the bear!
“I'm not waiting for you all day.” Yuki says. She ran forward and kicked his leg and jumped back. Maxi rubbed his leg and ran after her and attempted to punch her but fell down and ended up having a little bunny sitting on top of him.
“We all fall down.” Yuki sings happily. Maxi tried to knock her off but she jumped down and kicked his leg again and started to run around him in circles. Maxi continued to try to grab her but kept missing. Yuki kept laughing while she skipped around him and he couldn't hit.
“Oh come on!” Maxi shouts, finally grabbing her by the ear and holding her up. He finally thought he won, until he got kicked in the eye by the little bunny. He covered his eye with his other hand as it started to water and then he got another kick to the face followed by more until he dropped her and she started to push him and he suddenly fell backwards and was in much pain.
“Ow.. you gotta be kidding me..” Maxi mumbles from the ground while a little bunny sat on him and looked down at him.
“Laying down while we are playing isn't very fun you know. I was really enjoying myself.” Yuki says. Maxi admitted defeat once again. Soph was starting to see just how pathetic Maxi really was. He put his face in his paws and then sighed. It was really going to take a lot of work to get Maxi to be able to defeat Yuki at least, better yet, a nightmare. “Strike two.” Soph simply says.

Chapter 2:

Again she was small like the others. It was a little rabbit girl who had ears pointed up and a big smile with little teeth showing. The little bunny had white fur beside a brown spot around an eye.
“So they want me to fight you? Okay..” The little rabbit says.
“But first, what is your name?” Maxi asks.
“My name is Yuki.” The rabbit says, smiling. “And I know your name already.” She adds. Maxi suddenly felt strange. He was going to fight a little girl bunny? This was worse than fighting the bear!
“I'm not waiting for you all day.” Yuki says. She ran forward and kicked his leg and jumped back. Maxi rubbed his leg and ran after her and attempted to punch her but fell down and ended up having a little bunny sitting on top of him.
“We all fall down.” Yuki sings happily. Maxi tried to knock her off but she jumped down and kicked his leg again and started to run around him in circles. Maxi continued to try to grab her but kept missing. Yuki kept laughing while she skipped around him and he couldn't hit.
“Oh come on!” Maxi shouts, finally grabbing her by the ear and holding her up. He finally thought he won, until he got kicked in the eye by the little bunny. He covered his eye with his other hand as it started to water and then he got another kick to the face followed by more until he dropped her and she started to push him and he suddenly fell backwards and was in much pain.
“Ow.. you gotta be kidding me..” Maxi mumbles from the ground while a little bunny sat on him and looked down at him.
“Laying down while we are playing isn't very fun you know. I was really enjoying myself.” Yuki says. Maxi admitted defeat once again. Soph was starting to see just how pathetic Maxi really was. He put his face in his paws and then sighed. It was really going to take a lot of work to get Maxi to be able to defeat Yuki at least, better yet, a nightmare. “Strike two.” Soph simply says.
